What Amazon Marketing Cloud is
AMC is a privacy-safe analytics environment provided by Amazon Ads. Advertisers query aggregated, anonymized event data from their own ad campaigns using SQL, combined with Amazon signals. It lets you answer questions the standard Ads console cannot, such as how many purchasers saw more than one ad type, how long the path to purchase is, and how new-to-brand customers behave over time.
AMC is not a separate kind of advertising. It is a measurement and analysis tool. Access, data availability and useful query results depend on your account's eligibility and ad volume, so it is most relevant for brands with meaningful spend across several ad types.
How AMC fits into our PPC management
- Path-to-purchase analysis: how Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display work together before a purchase.
- Overlap and frequency: whether audiences are seeing too many or too few ads.
- New-to-brand insight: which campaigns bring in customers who have not bought from you before.
- Time to conversion: how long shoppers take to buy, which informs attribution and budget decisions.
- Better budget decisions: insights turned into practical changes in campaign structure and spend.
When AMC is worth it, and when it is not
For smaller accounts, standard reports, search term data and Search Query Performance usually answer the important questions. We will tell you honestly if AMC would not add value yet. For larger accounts running several ad types, AMC can reveal how upper-funnel ads support lower-funnel sales, which is hard to see otherwise.

Grounded in daily PPC management
Analysis only matters if it changes decisions. AMC work sits inside our Amazon PPC management, run by the same managers who handle your bids and budgets every day. Across all clients we manage $3M+ in monthly ad spend; the dashboards on this page are original Amazon Ads screenshots from accounts we manage.
Questions AMC can help answer
- Do shoppers who see Sponsored Brands video convert better on Sponsored Products?
- How many purchases involve more than one ad touchpoint?
- Which campaigns drive the most new-to-brand customers?
- How long is the typical path from first ad to purchase in our category?
Read our explainer on Amazon DSP vs Sponsored Ads for more on how Amazon's ad products fit together.
What an AMC analysis engagement looks like
- Eligibility check: confirm AMC access and whether your ad volume supports meaningful results.
- Question set: agree the business questions to answer, for example how Sponsored Brands video supports Sponsored Products sales.
- Queries and analysis: run AMC queries, sense-check the outputs and translate them into findings.
- Actions: change budgets, campaign structure or creative based on what the data shows.
- Follow-up: re-run key queries later to see whether the changes worked.
Limits to keep in mind
AMC returns aggregated results and applies privacy thresholds, so small audiences may not show results at all. It also requires careful interpretation: overlap between ad types does not prove that one caused the other. We treat AMC as one input alongside search term data, Search Query Performance and business results, not as a single source of truth.
How AMC relates to everyday reporting
Daily PPC decisions still run on campaign and search term reports. AMC is for the bigger questions that those reports cannot answer, reviewed periodically rather than daily. That balance keeps the analysis useful without slowing down the day-to-day work.
