The products most exposed to counterfeits and hijackers chosen first, weighed against code costs and packaging changes.
Code volumes planned and ordered, and printing agreed with your manufacturer or packaging supplier, whether on labels or printed into the pack.
Timing planned so units without codes do not get stuck: FBA inbound shipments, seller-fulfilled orders and existing stock all covered.
Listings watched for new sellers, counterfeit complaints and content changes, with Brand Registry reports filed where something breaks the rules.
Transparency combined with Brand Registry, Project Zero where available and a plan for unauthorised resellers.
| What it does | Best for | |
|---|---|---|
| Brand Registry | Gives the brand owner control of detail pages and tools to report infringement | Every brand selling its own products on Amazon |
| Transparency | Unique code on every unit, checked by Amazon before shipping, so units without a valid code are stopped | Products with a real counterfeit or hijacker problem |
| Project Zero | Lets eligible brands remove counterfeit listings themselves, where Amazon offers it | Brands with a strong record of accurate reports |
| Test buys and reports | Evidence gathered and reported through Brand Registry | Specific sellers or listings that need action |
We check eligibility, look at which ASINs are being hit by counterfeits or hijackers and estimate code volumes and packaging changes.

Transparency is Amazon’s product serialisation program. Brand owners put a unique Transparency code on every unit they make. Before an enrolled product ships, Amazon checks the code, and units without a valid code are stopped, whether the order is fulfilled by Amazon or by the seller. Shoppers can also scan the code with the Amazon Shopping app to check that a unit is authentic. Because every unit needs its own code, Transparency works best for brands that control their manufacturing and packaging.
To enrol, you generally need to be the brand owner in Amazon Brand Registry, have products with a GTIN such as a UPC or EAN, and be able to put a unique code on every unit you manufacture. Transparency is available in many Amazon marketplaces, and enrolled products need codes on every unit sold through Amazon in the marketplaces where they are enrolled. We check the current requirements for your products before you apply.
Amazon charges a per-code fee for each unit, and the rate falls as volume rises. There are also the costs of printing codes, changing packaging or labels and managing the rollout with your supplier. We estimate the full cost per ASIN against the sales you are losing to counterfeits and hijackers, so you enrol the products where it pays back first. Amazon publishes its current per-code rates when you enrol.
It is usually worth it for products that are being counterfeited or hijacked, sell in volume and have packaging you control. It is less useful for low-volume products or brands that cannot code every unit at the factory. We look at your seller and complaint history first and recommend a starting set of ASINs. See our Amazon brand protection and Amazon Brand Registry agency pages, and Amazon account suspension help if counterfeit complaints have already hit your account.

Yes. CommerceKind helps brands enrol in Amazon Transparency and roll it out: eligibility checks, ASIN selection, code ordering and printing with your manufacturer, FBA and seller-fulfilled rollout and ongoing counterfeit monitoring, alongside Brand Registry and brand protection.

Usually, for products that are counterfeited or hijacked, sell in volume and have packaging you control. For low-volume products, Brand Registry reports and monitoring may be enough. We recommend which ASINs to enrol first.
It helps a lot on enrolled products, because Amazon stops units without a valid code before they ship, including units sent by other sellers. It does not replace monitoring, so we still watch listings and file reports.
Yes. Once a product is enrolled, every unit sold through Amazon in the marketplaces where it is enrolled needs a valid code, including stock already in FBA, so the rollout needs planning with your supplier.
Transparency checks a unique code on every unit before it ships. Project Zero, where Amazon offers it, lets eligible brands remove counterfeit listings themselves. Many brands use both with Brand Registry.
Yes. Agencies can offer brand protection, including Transparency rollout, under their own brand through our white-label Amazon brand protection, with an NDA and non-solicit first.
