Why toys and baby products sell on TikTok Shop
Parents buy what other parents show working, and kids’ products are easy to show. An unboxing, a building set coming together, a craft kit finished, a nursery set-up or a bedtime routine shows a product’s value in seconds. The content that sells is honest and practical: real families using the product, what it’s like to assemble, how long it keeps a child busy, and what the parent would change.
Safety and documents come first
Children’s products are a regulated category. In the US, toys and other products made for children 12 and under generally need a Children’s Product Certificate based on third-party lab testing, toys are tested to the ASTM F963 toy safety standard, and many baby products such as cribs, high chairs and carriers have their own safety standards. In the UK, toys need UKCA or CE marking under the toy safety rules. TikTok Shop can ask for these documents before approving a product, and some baby and children’s products are restricted or need extra review. We gather the documents with you, check each product against the current TikTok Shop rules before launch, and brief creators on what they can and can’t say, because policies change. We are not a testing lab and do not issue certificates.
Creators, children and claims
Much of the best content in this category shows family life, and TikTok has strict rules on minors. Our creators are adults, briefs follow TikTok’s rules on children appearing in content, and claims such as developmental benefits, safety or sleep promises are kept accurate in listings and videos. Parent audiences notice exaggeration quickly, so honest reviews that include trade-offs usually sell better than polished ads.
Q4, gifting and seasons
Toys earn a large share of their year in Q4, so we plan creator volume, samples, stock and offers from late summer for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the holidays. Baby products follow a steadier rhythm, with baby showers, registries and new-parent routines all year. Birthdays, back to school and summer activities add more moments for toys and kids’ products.
Creator-led growth, with proof
Our creator engine is the same one behind our TikTok Shop results. In one US shop we manage, monthly GMV grew from $77,291.82 to $117,431.22 (+51.9%): see the US TikTok Shop case study. In one UK shop, GMV grew from £256.34 to £297,128.04 (same Apr 12 to May 10 window, before vs after): see the UK TikTok Shop case study. Results depend on product, margin and category, and we share a toys or baby plan after reviewing your shop.
TikTok Shop and Amazon together
Many parents find a product on TikTok and then compare reviews, add it to a registry or reorder on Amazon. We run both: TikTok Shop through TikTok Shop management, the creator program, GMV Max management and LIVE, and Amazon through our Amazon agency for toys and games and Amazon agency for baby products. Agencies with toy or baby clients can offer this under their own brand through our white-label TikTok Shop agency.
US, UK and beyond
We run TikTok Shop in the US and the UK, and Amazon across every marketplace, including the US, Canada, the UK and Europe, so a toy or baby brand can grow on both channels in more than one country with one team.
