Size tiers and dimensions
Measured weight and dimensions checked against your real packaging, and products just over a tier line flagged for packaging changes.
CommerceKind is an Amazon agency that reduces FBA fees for brands. Our in-house team checks every product’s size tier and measured dimensions, reviews inbound placement, low-inventory-level, storage and aged inventory fees, looks at returns processing and referral fee categories, and plans packaging and restock changes that lower cost per unit. Where Amazon has overcharged, we open cases and claim it back. You get a product-by-product view of where fees are eating your margin and what to change first.

Wrong dimensions, fee errors and lost or damaged stock claimed back through Seller Central cases.
| Fee | Common cause | What we usually recommend |
|---|---|---|
| Fulfillment fee | Product measured larger or heavier than it is | Remeasure request and packaging resized to a lower tier |
| Inbound placement fee | Every shipment sent to one location by default | Split shipments where the fee saving beats the extra freight |
| Low-inventory-level fee | Stock allowed to run low against sales | Restock quantities and timing planned per product |
| Storage and aged inventory | Too much slow stock held too long | Smaller, more frequent inbounds and a plan for aged units |
| Returns processing fee | High return rate in a category | Listing, size guide and packaging fixes that cut returns |

FBA cost is no longer just the fulfillment fee. Amazon has added inbound placement fees, low-inventory-level fees, storage utilization and aged inventory surcharges and returns processing fees for some products, on top of referral fees and monthly storage. Each one is small on its own, but together they can take a large share of the selling price, and they change from year to year. Amazon updates its fee schedule regularly, so we always work from the current Seller Central rates for your marketplace.
The fulfillment fee depends on the size tier and shipping weight Amazon records for each product. A box a little too big, or a weight measured wrong at the fulfillment center, can push a product into a higher fee band on every unit sold. We compare Amazon’s recorded dimensions with your real packaging, request remeasurement where they are wrong and suggest packaging changes where a product sits just over a tier line.
Sending stock to fewer locations can add an inbound placement fee, keeping too little stock can trigger the low-inventory-level fee, and keeping too much adds storage and aged inventory charges. The right balance is different for each product. We plan inbound shipments and restock quantities with your sales forecast so the total cost per unit goes down, not just one line on the fee report. See our Amazon inventory management service.
Fee errors, wrong dimensions and lost or damaged inventory are common. Where Amazon owes you money, we open and follow up the cases through our Amazon FBA reimbursement service. When a fee problem is really a returns problem, we fix the listing and packaging behind it, as on our Amazon return rate reduction page.
Lower fees only matter if total profit grows. We look at fees alongside ad spend and price, and we manage $3M+ in monthly ad spend across our clients. In one account, net profit grew from $697,575 to $784,952 year on year: see our profitability case study. Results depend on product, margin and category.

Yes. CommerceKind reviews FBA fees product by product for brands: size tiers and measured dimensions, inbound placement, low-inventory-level, storage and aged inventory fees, returns processing and referral fee categories, and claims back overcharges through Seller Central cases.
Start with size tiers: check Amazon’s recorded dimensions and weight against your real packaging. Then balance inbound placement, low-inventory and storage fees with better restock planning, clear out aged stock, fix products with high return rates and make sure each listing is in the right referral fee category.
Usually a mix of new fee types, products measured into a higher size tier, low stock triggering low-inventory-level fees, slow stock adding storage and aged inventory charges, and returns processing fees on some products. A fee review shows which ones cost you most.
Yes. Fulfillment centers sometimes record larger dimensions or a heavier weight than the real product, which can raise the fulfillment fee on every unit. You can ask Amazon to remeasure, and we open and follow up those cases.
It is a fee Amazon can charge on standard-size FBA products when stock stays low compared with recent sales. Amazon sets the rules and exemptions, and they change, so we check the current terms for your account and plan restocks to avoid it.
It is a fee linked to how your inbound shipments are split across Amazon fulfillment centers. Sending stock to fewer locations can cost more in placement fees, while more locations can lower or remove the fee but add freight. We compare the options for each shipment.
